
Hunter Mah
1st-prize winner at the 2008 Sierra Nevada Classical Guitar Competition, Singaporean classical guitarist Hunter Mah was a multiple prizewinner at the Philippine National Music Competitions for Young Artists, and gave his debut solo recital at the Cultural Centre of the Philippines at age 12.
In Singapore, he received technical grounding from Robert Luse, and studied harmony with Cultural Medallion recipient Phoon Yew Tien. Hunter earned his Bachelor of Music and post-graduate Professional Studies Diploma at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music under mentors Dusan Bogdanovic and David Tanenbaum. He was conferred his Masters degree cum laude, under Carlo Marchione at Conservatorium Maastricht.
In addition to lecturing at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore, Hunter’s private studio is sought after by players of all levels, from young children to professional guitarists.
