Ida Bryhn

Solo principal violist of the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, Ida Bryhn has served as principal violist with the Philharmonia Orchestra in London under Esa Pekka Salonen as well as with other European orchestras like the Stockholm Philharmonic, Oslo Philharmonic, Amsterdam Sinfonietta, and others.

A professor at the Royal College of Music London, and the Barratt Due Institute of Music Oslo, Ida Bryhn performs as a chamber musician at leading Norwegian festivals and internationally renowned festivals like the Verbier in Switzerland, Schlesvig-Holstein Music Festival, IMS Prussia Cove and Ravinia in Chicago. Guest appearances include with the Razumovsky Ensemble in London, the Diamond Ensemble in Copenhagen and the London Philharmonic’s chamber music series at Wigmore Hall. Ida Bryhn plays a viola built by the brothers G. and F. Grancino of Milan, made available to her by Dextra Musica.
