Yang Zhengyi

Yang Zhengyi is the current Associate Principal Bassist and Artistic Administrator in Chamber Music with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.  He is a graduate of the Royal College of Music in London with BMus with Honours (First Class), and was selected as one of the finalists of the ‘RCM String Player of the Year’ in 2006, leading to a concert in London’s Wigmore Hall. During his time in London, Zhengyi worked in many musical projects with the Philharmonia Orchestra and the Convent Garden/Royal Opera House. He has also worked with the London Symphony Orchestra, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Halle Orchestra (Manchester), and the orchestras of UBS Verbier Music Festival and Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.

Zhengyi is on the Faculty of Music at Singapore’s School of the Arts.
