Mozart 36

Mozart 36 follows Mozart’s journey as a young composer from age 8 with the first of his Sonatas for piano and violin to the last in 1788, when he was living at the centre of the Viennese musical world as the city’s finest keyboard player and a hugely successful composer.

Witness a powerhouse line-up of internationally-acclaimed classical chamber musicians on these 2 evenings as TTK Grand Series closes its one and a half year journey through the complete 36 Sonatas for piano and violin by Mozart, and a selection of his iconic chamber works and concerti, with this final and last of our trilogy of Mozart 36 projects.

Join us as we weave our way through cornerstone chamber works created in the last decade of Mozart’s life in Vienna, two of which were written for virtuoso clarinetist Anton Stadler.  And make occasional visits into the future with us, through miniatures by second Viennese School composers and Schoenberg’s earliest pupils – Webern and Berg, the lively Italian Serenade for string quartet by Wolf, and the string sextet overture to Strauss’ final opera, Capriccio.
