The Art of Chamber Music
CMAS is proud to present The Art of Chamber Music ~ an Exhibition to bookend our year-long 5th Anniversary Celebrations. The exhibition shares the art of chamber music with the local public through photography, a feature documentary and a series of Open Rehearsals (Quiet Sessions) and concerts as part of a Chamber Music Residency.
The Art of Chamber Music invites photographers Clarence Aw and Brandon Koh to share more about the essence and experience of chamber music-making through their eyes – inspiring viewers’ enthusiasm for the collaboration, imagination, expression, connection, and community that chamber music-making fosters.
Within this exhibition will also premiere ‘Song without Words’, led by NAC’s Young Artist Award 2024 winner, Tan Si En, and Momo Film Co. to tell the quiet, introspective, and intimate story of chamber music-making through a sensorial cinematic documentary.
Audiences are invited to attend programmes from the Chamber Music Residency, held in tandem with this exhibition, to experience the delicate collective act of listening and trust of chamber music-making in-person — led by prolific Scottish pianist and artistic director of the chamber music festival at Musikdorf Ernen in Switzerland Alasdair Beatson, solo British cellist, cultural entrepreneur and Artistic Director of North York Moors Chamber Music Festival Jamie Walton and Singaporean concert violinist and Founder of CMAS Tang Tee Khoon — working alongside our Homegrown Series musicians on the great chamber works of the French Romantic masters.

Brandon Koh
Brandon Koh is a Singapore-based photographer whose work documents the performances and community surrounding Chamber Music and Arts Singapore (CMAS). His photographs focus on the interactions between musicians and audiences during chamber music performances, capturing moments of concentration, communication, and connection.
