Why you should consider applying as a Young Musician

“The experience encouraged us to look beyond what is written on the score and to engage more deeply with the composers’ intentions and the contexts in which the music was written. The series of coachings built meaningfully towards the final performances, where we had the opportunity to present the works in full — a cohesive and fulfilling conclusion to the Residency. This experience has also been a reminder of the richness of the chamber music repertoire, and of the importance of continually looking deeper into the intentions behind the score. These are perspectives that I have continued to carry into my musical practice beyond the Residency.”
